It's real, honest, and leaves us with very important questions about our own recovery. This should be a definite addition to your library. Believe! Believing in onself is a wonderful thing. Believing you can give the gift of sobriety to someone is even better. It is all in the spirit of the season and Step Twelve. Believe in Coincidence? Is it coincidence or my Higher Power´s plan? How can you possibly know the difference? I celebrate another year of freedom. This time from nicotine. Everything is possible with God's help. Being Human and Recovery Not everyone in recovery has a kind and gentle nature. Our own human nature sometimes becomes dominant in our abiities to stay sober and to help others. Being Human Not everyone in recovery has a kind and peaceful nature. Once we accept the fact that we are all still human, we can continue our journey in peace and acceptance. Being Good Enough The feelings of not being good enough or feeling less than do not disappear that quickly. They are deep rooted defects that made us drink or use. Removing these feelings take time, patience, and the ability to acknowledge them. Being Anonymous We say that the people that mind don't matter but there is more to anonymity than that. Breaking anonymity requires thought and common sense. Be the Master of Your Destiny Each day we have choice. Will we do what we can to make it a good day? Or will we revert back to old behaviors and blame someone else. We know we are not perfect but we can control our own destiny. Another Sober Year If we are in recovery, we all have one day a year that celebrates our sobriety. I invite you to reflect on yours and those first memories in recovery as I share mine. Anonymity 102 Disclosing our addiction personally may not be so difficult. Disclosing our addiction to health care providers should never be a problem but it can be. How can we be honest and protect ourselves when health and life insurance becomes an issue?
