This week marks the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. How you invest your time this year could start new and wonderful traditions. If you are planning to travel, or entertain out of town guests, for the July 4th weekend, I hope you find happy memories that your family enjoys. I am wishing you a safe and pleasant summer!

Next weekend my family will have the honor of attending the wedding of a young man who we have known since he was a toddler. My favorite observation from a mutual friend was: "...they never go as planned but none of the guests will know; they always except what is and are happy to be there."

Those seem to be the best expectations we could have for all events involving family and friends. I hope you find plenty to lift you into the happiness of being there.

"Brad Hennefer, a 20-year-old man with Down syndrome, is a finalist to represent the Philadelphia Phillies in People Magazine’s “All-Stars Among Us.” ... Hennefer was a high school varsity golfer who started the Golf for Life Foundation with his father, Robert, to inspire young children with Down syndrome to play golf."
